LOCAL SPECIALISTS UNITED BY THE SAME PASSION
The ORLA Tours Team: Your Local Experts in Laos
Our commitment to quality and responsible tourism, combined with the expertise of our local French-Lao team, enables us to create authentic, perfectly organized journeys that respect the communities we encounter.
Based in Luang Prabang, our team works together every day in true harmony. Travel designers, operations managers, guides and reservation teams combine their experience to assist every traveller, from the creation of their itinerary until their return home.

Laos remains a relatively unknown destination, appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere, authenticity, diverse ethnic communities and beautiful landscapes. With more than 25 years of experience on the ground, we create tailor-made journeys far from the conventional tourist routes, while ensuring smooth organization, safety and quality throughout.
Each member of our team has their own area of expertise: cultural discovery, adventure, trekking, encounters with local communities, accommodation, logistics or traveller support. This diversity of skills allows us to create journeys that are genuinely tailored to each traveller’s expectations.

Several times a year, our team returns to the field to explore new regions, meet with our partners and inspect the itineraries we already offer. This regular presence allows us to continually update our journeys and maintain an in-depth understanding of the realities on the ground.

After graduating from interior design school and then business school, I decided in 2000 to follow the family path in Laos. Having grown up in the world of tourism in Asia, I began working for my parents’ travel agency as an itinerary scout and quality control manager. Phasouk and I have long worked as a team to guide groups and explore routes, and today we combine our experience to serve your journey.

I began my career in tourism in 1999 after graduating from the French Department of the National University of Laos in Vientiane. I first worked as a French-speaking guide, then as a team leader, ensuring meaningful exchanges between travelers and local ethnic communities. My 25 years of experience have given me an in-depth knowledge of the country.

Head of Reservations Holding a diploma as a Management Assistant with a specialization in Tourism from Luang Prabang, I am in charge of handling reservations. I also manage official travel documents in coordination with local authorities, ensuring that your journeys to remote areas and ethnic communities across Laos are fully compliant and worry-free.

Custom Travel Designer Laos is, above all, a family story for me. My father was born there, and it was in 2011, during my first trip with my wife, that I truly fell in love with my country of origin. After 15 years of experience in tailor-made travel, I have developed a strong expertise in listening, understanding, and turning each project into a meaningful human adventure, rich in encounters and freedom.

Custom Travel Designer Holding a Master’s degree in Tourism, I am passionate about travel and deeply fascinated by Asia. With part of my family being Lao, I have developed a very special bond with Laos — a country I hold close to my heart. I would be delighted to design a tailor-made itinerary that reflects who you are and to help you discover the rich cultural and human heritage of this destination, which is truly unique to me.

Adventure Tour Designer & Tour Leader A high-level athlete in triathlon, with a strong focus on mountain trail running, I have been passionate about Asia since my first trip in 2005. I joined the team nearly ten years ago as a trek route scout, and over time, thanks to my in-depth field knowledge, I now lead groups from northern to southern Laos, all the way to Cambodia.

Accountant Holding a Bachelor’s degree in English, I am responsible for financial documentation, expense tracking, and supporting daily accounting operations. I am passionate about nature, languages, and connecting people through enriching and cultural travel experiences. I am committed to contributing positively to the tourism industry while promoting sustainability and intercultural understanding.
Our team of guides
It is quite rare to have a photo bringing together so many of our guides (New Year’s Eve 2023 photo). Always out in the field during the high season or spending time with their families during the low season, they are the tip of our iceberg the ambassadors and the true image of our agency.

At ORLA Tours, we strive to involve as many local people as possible by employing them within the tourism sector. We are committed to fostering a fair and safe working environment that supports and respects local communities.
