In Vietnam, take a cruise in the magnificent Ha Long Bay. It's 1,600 unspoilt islets, a geological and archaeological wonderland, whose turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and sunsets will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Mountains, wild rivers and rice fields 

Breakfast at your resort, then a traditional wooden boat awaits you for a 50-minute sail on the Nam Ou River. You will visit the weaving village of Ban SopChèm and meet Laotian fishermen. Have lunch in the village (Ban Sopchème or Ban MuangNgoikao), then head downriver to moor at the small village of Ban MuangNgoikao. Your 1? hour walk in Lao Loum country (local tribe) starts here, on the banks of the river. On the way, you will visit the ThamKang cave and cross the valley surrounded by superb scenery combining mountains and rice fields. Arrival late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in a village of the Tay Ead tribe.

day 05 ...
Walk in a picture-postcard landscape, ride in a traditional wooden boat on a wild river

Breakfast in the village. After breakfast, return to Muang Ngoi along the same path as the day before, walking for 1? hours through the Laotian countryside before returning to your traditional boat for the trip down the Nam Ou to Nongkhiaw. During this short cruise, you will be able to see fishermen with nets, buffalo, children bathing, wooden and bamboo villages on the banks, etc. Lunch is on you on the way and you will then stop off at the village of Pak Ou, along the Mekong. You will cross the Mekong in a traditional boat to reach and visit the famous sanctuary caves of PakOu. The river here is lined with towering cliffs, limestone rocks carved out by the monsoon rains and the river's floods. Huge caves have formed as a result. The Pak Ou caves are home to thousands of Buddha statues, dressed in weathered red and gold. You will board your private boat for a cruise on the Mekong to return to Luang Prabang. Return to your resort. Dinner on your own.

Heading for Ninh Binh 

After breakfast, you will take the road towards Ninh Binh, also known as Halong Bay on land. After about 2? hours on the road, you will settle into your accommodation.

In the afternoon, you will continue your visit by boarding a sampan, a type of boat made from woven bamboo or metal, on the Ngo Dong River in Tam Coc, also known as ‘Halong Bay on Land’. You'll sail through a heavenly setting that was also used for the filming of the movie ‘Indochine’. You will pass under caves to admire the karstic stalactites and stalagmites. At the end of the day, you'll have free time to relax or stroll around the embroidery village of Van Lam, famous for its traditional Vietnamese fabrics and embroidery crafts.

day 09 ...
Halong Bay

After breakfast, you'll set sail for Halong Bay, a magnificent destination around 3 hours away.

On arrival at around midday, the crew of your traditional junk will welcome you and settle you into your private cabin, offering every comfort and a panoramic view of the bay.

Afterwards, you can enjoy a fresh seafood lunch while admiring the spectacular scenery of the bay as your junk sails out to sea.

During the day, you'll make a stop at the floating fishing village where you can explore the area by kayak and learn more about local fishing activities.

After an hour on the water, you can return to the junk to relax and soak up the sun by sunbathing on deck.

Before dinner, you will also have the opportunity to take part in a Vietnamese cooking demonstration or simply sip a cocktail on deck while watching the sunset.

You can then enjoy Halong Bay specialities at dinner, such as squid fritters, steamed fish and stir-fried vegetables with rice.

After dinner, you can relax and enjoy your stay on board the traditional junk in Halong Bay.
