day 01
Welcome to Luang Prabang
Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang. Your minivan driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. Free time to stroll around town or relax at your hotel. Free lunch and dinner at your own expense.

day 02
A day to meet the elephants
After breakfast, your guide will collect you from your hotel and take you to the Elephant Village Camp sanctuary in Ban Xieng Lom. You will visit the camp and spend time in the company of these enormous animals. The mahouts will explain their job and their very special relationship with these pachyderms. You will take a walk alongside one of the elephants (with a bath) and then have lunch on the camp's terrace, offering a splendid view of the river. For trips between July and December, when there is water, you can take a 15-minute pirogue ride to the TadSae waterfall for a swim. Return to town and transfer to your hotel. Free time for the rest of the afternoon to explore the city on your own and dinner on your own.

day 03
Explore the KuangSi waterfalls, immerse yourself in the heart of the bear sanctuary and meet the Hmong community
After breakfast, your guide will collect you from your hotel. You will take a minivan through the countryside to reach the impressive KuangSi waterfalls in the middle of the jungle. You will visit the centre for bears rescued from poaching. Lunch at your leisure and an afternoon at the waterfall to relax in this heavenly setting. Free time to swim in the turquoise water and stroll through the jungle. In the middle of the afternoon, a visit to the butterfly park is sure to delight the children. An experience lasting around an hour, during which they will have the opportunity to observe at close quarters various species of butterfly native to Laos. On the way back to Luang Prabang, you'll stop off at an ethnic Hmong village at Ban Na Ouan. Return to your hotel and evening at leisure. Dinner at your own expense.

day 04
Meet the local tribes and relax in the idyllic setting of the small town of Nongkhiaw
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel to begin your journey to the north-east of the country. You will leave Luang Prabang and take picturesque roads that will take you through the superb landscapes of rice paddies and mountains of the north. You will visit several villages of the Tay Lue, Tay Dam and Tay Deng tribes, renowned for their handicrafts. Local lunch in the Pakmong region, before heading back to the charming town of Nong Khiaw. Nestling in an idyllic setting, it is crossed by the Nam Ou River and surrounded by rocky mountains covered in jungle.
You will arrive in Ban Nong Khiaw in the early afternoon. Enjoy some free time to relax by the pool and take in the breathtaking scenery. The more adventurous can climb Phou PhaDeang mountain for a 360-degree panoramic view (without a guide, 2-hour walk there and back). Dinner on your own.
